The Dekheila Prosecution Office, under the supervision of Counselor Mohamed Abdel Salam, the first public attorney for the Alexandria Appeals Prosecution, began, on Wednesday evening, extensive investigations into the killing of 6 people asphyxiated in a fire that broke out inside an addiction treatment facility in Alexandria.
Counselor Mahmoud Zaghloul, Head of the Dakhilah Prosecution Office, ordered the assignment of forensic experts to inspect the fire, know its causes and determine its beginning and end, delegate the health inspector to sign a medical examination of the bodies of the deceased, and inquire from the Free Treatment Department of the Directorate of Health Affairs in Alexandria about licenses for practicing treatment for examination, industrial security licenses and the extent of Adhering to occupational safety requirements, and promptly conducting investigations into the incident.
Major General Sami Ghoneim, Director of Alexandria Security, received a notification from the emergency police officers stating that there had been a report of a fire in Villa 27, Street 13, off Hanafia Street, in the Agami Bitash district of the Dekheila Police Department, and that there were casualties and deaths.
Immediately, the department’s investigation officers moved, and the payment by civil protection vehicles and ambulances was controlled, and by inspection and examination it was found that the villa is a psychiatric and addiction clinic consisting of two floors and a roof, the occupancy rate of 45 people, and the fire resulted in the death of 6 cases and the injury of one person, and received First aid at the location of the incident, the necessary report was drawn up and the prosecution was notified to investigate.
