As we all know, this is certainly not a good period for Italy, but not for the rest of the world either. 2020 is the year we will always remember, unfortunately, for the Coronavirus emergency that is bringing the globe to its knees.
Despite this, in the capital the filming of the last appointment with Mission Impossible. In fact, several scenes of the appointment number “7” with the special agent Ethan Hunt are set in Rome, which, as we all know, continues to be interpreted as always by the great Tom Cruise. In the past few hours, the entire cast engaged in the filming of the film was spotted in Piazza di Spagna, after having seen the actors speeding through the Imperial Forums aboard the BMW 3 Series of the Police. The last scenes saw the protagonists engaged with wonderful specimens, including one Fiat 500 from the 1950s in yellow color, as well as with an armored vehicle of the Italian Army, an Iveco Lince.
In the last few hours, videos have been published on social media and there are a lot of photos, like the ones we have collected and in which we can see just Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell aboard the iconic Cinquecento yellow in color. The two actors whiz through the streets of Rome performing in spin and pass at full speed around the Fontana della Barcaccia. In some scenes, they will be the ones to guide the little Italian, in others it will be the passengers.
An interesting curiosity? The yellow Fiat 500 that is used for the shooting of the new Mission Impossible 7 film is a prototype modified ad hoc to perform evolutions. In fact, it has a front structure on which a stuntman is positioned who controls the car, so inside the two actors can act without having to pay attention to driving.
It is therefore a prototype on which it was installed the body of a 1957 500. We can also think that the models used for filming are equipped with an electric motor, given the great reactivity of the car and the absence of the unmistakable noise of the petrol twin. The chassis and the set-up were made specifically for the car in the film, we see at first glance the wheels with a larger diameter than those of the original 500.
