The city’s private establishments are still open, but with draconian measures. Plexiglas walls around each pupil, compulsory mask, test once a month for 2000 pupils … so many measures that reassure parents and teachers. Some caregivers find that this second wave is much less serious than the first. However, New York has two faces. The epidemic is on the rise in poorer neighborhoods. Aid associations that distribute free masks are pessimistic.
