Hove –
In the René Verbeecklaan in Hove, a motorist wreaked havoc on Monday afternoon. The 95-year-old driver wanted to eat something in the Ten Hove service center. When he wanted to park it went wrong.

“Suddenly he drove backwards to the entrance of the Cantershof residential care center. There he rammed the awning support beam and the entrance door. Then he drove forward, over the grass and rammed the wall of our service center, ”says center leader Gerda Vos. “The collision caused a loud bang and a dust cloud. It is a small miracle that the car was not driven through the wall. People were eating on the other side of the wall. ”
The driver was taken to hospital for care. The fire brigade cleaned up the debris and carried out construction works. It is now being investigated how the accident could have happened.
