NEW YORK — What would have been a day of fun turned into a tragedy for a family who traveled from New York to the Dominican Republic after the cruel murder of a 9-year-old boy.
It is about the minor Gioser Luis Féliz Camilo who died during the early hours of Wednesday from a bullet impact to the head when he arrived in the country through the Cibao international airport with family members, and they were heading to Villa Vásquez, through Circunvalación avenue in Santiago .
“We passed the toll and it was after they got in front of us, we didn’t stop and we continued and it was at that moment that they shot,” said the father of the youngest, Sergio Luis Féliz.
The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, regretted the incident and confirmed the arrest of five suspects. “In less than 24 hours, five men who are being identified as the perpetrators of the death of a 9-year-old boy were arrested,” Colonel Diego Pesqueira also confirmed from the Dominican Republic.
Those allegedly involved in the murder, who are residents of the Cienfuegos sector of Santiago, were identified as Luis Ángel Vargas Brito, Derlin Javier Mercado Martínez, César Junior Ulloa Cuevas, José Manuel Almonte Santana and Elian Martínez Sánchez. In addition, another person involved would be Timas Espinal Morel, who would be a friend of the father. They are also investigating at least five others.
According to the Police, the suspects rented the white vehicle with which they followed the car driven by the father of the minor, his sentimental partner and his son. The little boy, who was in the fourth grade of primary school, suffered a bullet wound to the head and died at the Doctor Arturo Grullón children’s hospital in Santiago.
