Have you ever done anything illegal?
“When I was fourteen, I stole a bath pearl with friends at the INNO in Mechelen. That was a ‘who dares?’ Competition. I dared one. My friends were more heroic. “
How was the first time?
“I was madly in love with a girl in my class 20 years ago. She had to wait and see if she saw anything in me, mostly because of the taboo at the time. “I’ve been very insecure for a long time. Not bad, because that puts you in perspective. Although at times it has taken on proportions that I hope my children will never hear. Of course they shouldn’t get so confident that they won’t listen to me anymore, huh. (laughs)“
What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done?
“We were on a weekend in the Ardennes with friends and I had been hoping for a while that my love would propose me. I was seeing us with a friend. “Do it yourself,” he said to her. So I went to the kitchen where my sweetheart was cutting onions for the sauce and I proposed to marry him. She must have been crying, but it may have been for the exits and not for the excitement.
