The 82-year-old man who was stabbed on a Rotterdam cycle path on Thursday died in hospital from his injuries. The Rotterdam police has that announced.
The cyclist was stabbed just after 10 a.m. on the Delfshavenseweg in Overschie. Officers found him on the road with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital by air ambulance.
Aggressive
Moments later, a suspect was arrested, a 46-year-old Polish man. According to the regional broadcaster Rijnmond, the suspect behaved already aggressive before the stabbing to other passers-by.
Nothing is yet known about the reason for the stabbing. Police say they are still investigating the case and are still looking for witnesses.
