Neighborhood officer Rob Doorneveld describes on Twitter that the older man had stolen food for €17.75 from Albert Heijn in a shopping center in Zoetermeer. The man had stolen cheese and ham, among other things. The 80-year-old man told the police that it was difficult for him to get by on his state pension, and that is why he had started stealing. Officers reprimanded the man.
The local police officer who shares the story on Twitter has announced that he will visit the man soon.
