80 million dollars to avoid a lawsuit!

More than 500,000 vehicles affected

The agreement was registered in the State of San Francisco and has yet to be approved by a federal judge. More than 500,000 vehicles would be affected over a period from 2005 to 2020. Each eligible person will receive a sum of 250 to 1,109 dollars.

The Volkswagen Group has also announced that owners of Porsches with the “Sport +” driving mode will receive $250 extra when they have completed the repairs necessary to reduce their emissions and made the software updates to lower their emissions when driving in this mode.

Problems spotted by Porsche in 2015, complaint says

According to the lawsuit filed in the US court, Porsche knew since 2015 that its marketed vehicles were more polluting than those of testwithout informing American motorists.

The case could therefore be associated with the scandal of the Dieselgate who came to tarnish the image of the Volkswagen group, which also owns the brands Audi, Seat and Skoda.

Porsche: this agreement does not confirm his guilt

The charges against Porsche are not admitted. This agreement serves to close the debate. This indemnification applies only to vehicles sold in the territory of the United States.

In 2021, Porsche delivered more than 300,000 vehicles worldwide (301,915 exactly). It was the American continent that saw the strongest increase in deliveries with 70,025 models registered last year. The manufacturer’s main market nevertheless remains Chinawith 95,671 deliveries.
