At 18:40, a Burgas family with their two children – a girl and a boy – was overtaken by the storm during a walk on the beach in the Sea Garden. The parents and their children went to a nearby restaurant to seek shelter, but before they could get there, the 8-year-old boy was struck by lightning.
The unconscious child was taken to Burgas UMBAL, where emergency resuscitation measures were taken.
In the afternoon, a strong thunderstorm broke out along the Southern Black Sea coast.
