South Korea has conducted a test launch of a ballistic missile submarine of its own production from a new submarine. It became the eighth country in the world to own this weapon.

The test was conducted last month under the direction of the South Korean Defense Development Agency.
The submarine Dosan Ahn Chang-ho with a displacement of 3,000 tons is equipped with six vertical launch containers. It is believed that this Hyunmoo 4-4 SLBM is a modification of the Hyunmoo-2B missile with a range of about 500 km and that it will be equipped with conventional warheads.
