The new cage area for seven Indochinese tigers includes three permanent houses, divided in the order A, B, C with 9 cages. Each area is 50m apart, surrounded by dense trees, creating a cool environment for tigers.

The new home of tigers is located in the middle of the primeval forest of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, where few people pass by. The tiger cages are designed solidly and technically.

According to Mr. Le Thuc Dinh, Director of the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, the bringing of seven tigers through the new enclosure was completed on August 4.

The old cage is narrow, while the tiger is growing, it will not be suitable for long-term farming. In addition, the employees also have difficulties in care and hygiene, especially the safety issue is difficult to ensure. Moving to a new cage will create a suitable environment, the tiger will be more comfortable without being confined in a small space.

Compared to the time when they were brought to Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, now the weight of tigers has doubled, averaging 100 kg each, especially a male tiger weighing about 150 kg.

In addition to the living space, the food ration for the tiger is also paid great attention by the care unit, ensuring that it is suitable for the ecological behavior of each stage of the tiger’s growth.

Tiger rearing and care are very closely planned by the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Creatures, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The technical staff at Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park also participated in learning experiences to do the best care and rearing tasks.

Especially, take advantage of the experience of experts as well as share lessons from overseas rescue centers. At the same time, combined with the accumulated experience in tiger conservation facilities in Vietnam.
