633 Moroccans stranded abroad repatriated

LThe repatriation operation of Moroccans stranded abroad following the closure of the air, land and sea borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic, continued on Saturday at Marrakech-Menara international airport with the arrival of a new group of 633 people of all ages.

QFour Royal Air Maroc (RAM) planes, with on board each aircraft between 157 and 159 passengers, landed at the Ocher City International Airport, from France (3 flights, 476 citizens) and from the ‘Germany (one flight, 157 people).

These new arrivals, including babies, bring to 1,550 the number of citizens who have returned to their country via Marrakech-Menara airport during the last 24 hours on 10 flights in total, from Great Britain, France, from the Netherlands, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Germany.

They have all boarded buses bound for city hotels, where they will benefit from Covid-19 screening tests, before being confined in accordance with the health protocol in force.

Some 30 flights were scheduled between June 21 and 27 for the repatriation of 4,644 Moroccans stranded in 17 countries, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
