621 Deaths Due to Dengue Fever in Indonesia by April 2024: Ministry of Health Data

Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) recorded that there were 621 deaths in Indonesia due to dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in the 17th week of 2024 or the end of April last year.

At the same time, in the same period in 2023 there will be 209 deaths.

Referring from Between, On Thursday (2/5), the Head of the Ministry of Health’s Communications and Public Services Bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that in the 17th week of 2024, there would be 88,593 cases of dengue fever. Meanwhile, in the same period in 2023 there will be 28,579 cases of dengue fever in Indonesia.

Siti reminded the public to take measures to prevent dengue fever, such as cleaning mosquito nests (PSN). His party appealed to residents and officials to promote activities to drain, cover and bury (3M) places that are at risk of becoming mosquito breeding nests.

“If the fever does not reduce for three days, immediately go to the hospital/puskesmas. Make sure that the environment around us is clean,” he said.

Five regions with the highest dengue cases in Indonesia

In the same statement, Siti mentioned the five provinces and cities with the highest cases, which are Bandung City (3,468), Tangerang Regency (2,540), and Bogor City (1,944).

“Kendari City has 1,659 cases, West Bandung Regency has 1,576 cases,” said Siti.

Meanwhile, for the death rate, he said, Bandung Regency had 29 deaths, Jepara Regency had 21 deaths, Bekasi City had 19 deaths.

“Subang Regency 18 deaths, Kendal Regency 17 deaths,” he said.
