EDITING MESSAGES
Meta announced that new features have been introduced to Instagram’s messages tab.
One of the new features is the function of editing messages.
According to this feature, users will be able to edit a message within 15 minutes after sending it.
The feature will come in handy if you want to fix a typo in a message or edit the message to make it look better, add details, remove details, and so on.
To edit a message on Instagram, tap and hold on the message you want to edit and select ‘Edit’.
PIN CHATTERS
Another feature that Meta announced is chat pinning.
Thanks to this feature, users will be able to pin the chat they want to the top of up to three message boxes.
To pin a chat, tap and hold on the chat you want to pin or swipe left on the chat and select ‘Pin’.
Turning off read receipts
When you send a message to someone on Instagram and they read the message, the app will show you a note below the message saying that the other person read the message and vice versa.
Although this is a very useful feature, some people do not want others to know that they are reading the messages.
For these people, Meta has now added the ability to turn off read receipts.
You can turn off read receipts for all chats or selected chats.
To turn it off on all messages, go to Settings ” Messages & story replies ” Show read receipts and turn the feature off.
NEW CHAT THEMES
Instagram allows you to change the theme of a chat.
Meta is now adding several new chat themes to the platform, including Love, Lollipop, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Meta has started rolling out these features with the latest versions of the app for each platform (Android and iOS).
Therefore, make sure you update the app to the latest version.
STICKERS
Stickers are a great way to express your emotions and feelings in a conversation.
However, since there are so many stickers available on Instagram, it becomes quite troublesome to find the ones you use the most.
To fix this issue, Meta now allows you to mark stickers as favorites in a chat.
When you mark a sticker as a favorite, it will appear at the top of the sticker section, allowing you to easily access your loved ones every time.
One of the best messaging features on Instagram is to send a message by quoting another message in the chat.
This feature is being updated. You can now reply to a message with photos, videos, voice messages, GIFs and stickers, making it easier for you to chat with someone.
To respond using the new options, press and hold a message, select ‘Reply’ and select the type of media you want to reply to.
