At the San Timoteo hospital in Termoli there are patients hospitalized with Covid-19. It is at the moment at least 6 people, all assisted in Emergency Medicine, a department that has been practically dedicated to the care of patients who have developed the infection due to the Sars-Cov-2 coronavirus.
Therefore, the numerous rumors that have occurred in recent weeks, starting with public denunciation of the Left Network who had explicitly asked for confirmation or denial – without having the shred of an answer – to the Asrem leaders. More recently the same political formation had prodded the mayor Roberti asking that he ascertain the facts. Just today the mayor of Termoli replied by criticizing the declarations of Termoli as a Common Good and assuring that he had involved the Asrem and the Larino Public Prosecutor’s Office, without however providing any clarification on the situation of San Timoteo.
A cry of alarm had also recently come from Dr. Giancarlo Totaro. “If this continues, it is not possible to imagine having only a “gray / dirty” area in Termoli in the hospital enough to handle all cases of low and medium intensity, or worse still there could be a risk that the hospital will be blocked again in all other activities as in the recent past. Promiscuity must be avoided and keep separate Covid paths and admissions so that the no-Covid Termoli hospital may not relive the painful experience of a forced closure “.
Today, however, it was the secretary dem Vittorino Facciolla who declared that “iThe emergency medicine ward of the San Timoteo ward in Termoli is collapsing, currently 7 covid patients are hospitalized “.
Covid emergency, hospitals in collapse. Asrem urgently calls doctors for Termoli and Isernia
Several sources inside the hospital instead relate with certainty of 6 patients with Covid in Emergency Medicine. A confirmation of the fact that, contrary to what has been said several times by Asrem, Cardarelli is no longer the only hospital in Molise to have hospitalized with the infection which is putting Molise healthcare in serious difficulty. It is also known that several health workers, including Asrem employees at San Timoteo hospital, have become ill from contracting the coronavirus.
There are rumors of other positives, at least to the rapid and asymptomatic swab, within other departments of San Timoteo and Veneziale of Isernia. A picture is then outlined that highlights a health situation out of control, to the point that Cardarelli struggles to accept new hospitalizations.
In fact, in these hours, three of the positives hospitalized in Emergency Medicine in Termoli should be transferred to Campobasso, but there is no certainty even about the times, also due to the very serious lack of emergency vehicles of 118, now largely used for the transfer of patients from Lower Molise to Cardarelli.
