VIVA – Italy National Team won the title EURO 2020. They confirmed the trophy after the Azzurri beat England in the final through a penalty shootout with a score of 3-2.
The EURO 2020 final between Italy and England was held at Wembley Stadium, Monday morning WIB, July 12, 2021. The Three Lions were able to take a quick lead when the match had only been running for two minutes.
Kieran Trippier’s cross from the right to Luke Shaw who was free standing at the far post. Then, Shaw was able to tap the ball to trick Gianluigi Donnarumma which put England 1-0 up.
Missing one goal made Italy appear more signature in order to create an equalizer. Their efforts paid off in the 67th minute through Leonardo Bonucci’s action after taking advantage of the chaos that occurred in front of the England goal.
Italy is increasingly dominant after equalizing. They recorded possession of the ball by 62 percent compared to 38 percent recorded by England for 90 minutes.
However, until normal time ended no more goals were created. The match was forced to go into extra time. At 2×15 minutes, the scoreboard is also unchanged. The determination of the winner of EURO 2020 must proceed to the penalty shootout.
In this high-fives round, the first kickers of each team, Domenico Berardi and Harry Kane successfully carried out their duties. Then, Andrea Belotti who became Italy’s second kicker failed to carry out his duties properly.
