In Belarus, 13 “centers of socio-political activity” were identified on Saturday, a ministry spokeswoman said.

The human rights center “Vyasna” previously reported that about 40 people were detained in Belarus on Saturday, most of them during the protest march.

Protests against the rigging of the presidential election have been going on in Belarus for more than two months. More than 13,000 people have been detained and several hundred injured during the protests.

According to the official results of the presidential election in Belarus on August 9, the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko won 80.1% of the vote, but the opposition candidate Svetlana Tihanovska – 10.1%, but the opposition believes that the election results were falsified and that Tikhanyovsky won the election convincingly.

The EU and other Western countries have also refused to recognize the election results.
