56-Year-Old Accused of 143 Crimes and 1.7 Million Euro Fraud

From Wednesday, a 56-year-old man will have to answer before the Stade regional court for particularly serious fraud. According to the indictment, the man is said to have concluded loan agreements with various lenders in Sandbostel (Rotenburg district), among others, but in many cases did not repay the money as agreed. Between 2015 and 2020, 143 crimes are said to have occurred. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the defendant obtained more than 1.7 million euros. He sometimes used the loans to pay off debts to other creditors. The man lulled the financiers into a false sense of security by pretending to be running a trading business.
