D-reizen will open travel agencies again. From July 1, it will be about 50 stores and another 50 will follow soon after. The website is also going back up in the air, Marc van Deursen director of Prijsvrij, the organization that took over parts of D-reizen after the bankruptcy, said in the AD.
The reopening is gradual. “After the first week of July, we hope to have 100 travel agencies and more will be added every day. We will start on Monday with a test shop, because we have to repair, reinstall and replace a lot. Think, for example, of telephone lines and ICT.”
As for staff, the new owner has no worries. It is mainly employees of the old D-reizen who have received a new contract. “We are targeting 450 of the 1,100 employees.”
Another 150 to 200 stores
Price-free reached an agreement last month about a restart of part of D-reizen. It concerns 100 to 150 stores. Another 50 branches will go to travel company Hillman Travel. D-reizen had 285 travel agencies before the bankruptcy.
