TRAINER has a very important role for the football club. In today’s modern era, a coach is expected to produce results from the start of his career. They have to work hard and be vigilant at all times because they could just be overthrown by the club if they fail.
To be successful, of course, many coaches are synonymous with certain styles of play because of their preferences. However, despite their preferences in terms of tactics and formation, several others have also been their most successful since the turn of the century.
Then who are the most successful coaches in the era of modern football today? Here are the five trainers.
5. Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most accomplished coaches in world football. The Italian coach has won domestic titles in four of the top five leagues in Europe. He is also one of the coaches who won the Champions League with two different teams.
Ancelotti is currently managing Everton. However, he has also coached big teams such as AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain (PSG), and Chelsea. As a coach, he showed a penchant for attacking football during his early days.
However, Ancelotti became a tactically flexible coach in his time which allowed him to develop at top clubs in many different countries. The 61-year-old coach has worked with some of the world’s best players such as Paolo Maldini, Andrea Pirlo, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.
4. Zinedine Zidane
After having had a brilliant career as a player, Zidane stepped down as a coach. His first assignment was not to play with Real Madrid. As if not a difficult job, the French passport coach gave three consecutive Champions League titles.
Although he has never managed a club other than Madrid, that has not diminished his success as a coach. In his second stint with Madrid, Zidane was impressively able to reverse the fate of the club shaken by the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018.
Zidane has shown tremendous tactical flexibility. He was able to turn Madrid, a team that was never known for its defensive resilience into one of the best defensive teams in club football.
