5 Latest News After Cooking Oil Corruption Cases Revealed

Attorney General’s Office (AGO) appoints the Director General of Foreign Trade Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana (IWW) and 3 private parties related to the alleged case corruption in granting crude palm oil export facilities (CPO) or cooking oil raw material. Now the AGO is also investigating allegations of bribery in licensing export the CPONot only that, the AGO also opened the possibility to examine the Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi.

It is known, the determination of the suspect was delivered directly by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin on Tuesday (19/4/2022). Burhanuddin said the actions of the suspects caused losses to the country’s economy.

“The actions of the suspects resulted in state economic losses or resulted in the expensiveness and scarcity of cooking oil so that there was a decrease in household consumption and small industries that use cooking oil and made people’s lives difficult,” said Burhanuddin at his office, Jalan Sultan Hasanuddin, South Jakarta, Tuesday ( 19/4/2022).

The four suspects in this case are the Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana (IWW), Master Parulian Tumanggor (MPT) as Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia, Stanley MA (SMA) as Senior Manager Corporate Affairs for Permata Hijau Group (PHG), and Picare Togare Sitanggang (PT) as General Manager at the General Affairs Section of PT Musim Mas.

The following is a series of the latest news regarding handlers the CPO export licensing case.

1. Investigate allegations of bribery

The AGO is currently also exploring the mode of bribery in export approvals crude palm oil or CPO or cooking oil made by Indrasari.

“I’m not talking about compensation, the PE (export approval) has already been issued, if it’s related to the gifts we’ll look into it later. Yes (related to the bribery mode),” said Director of Investigation at the Jampidsus AGO Supardi to reporters, Wednesday (20/4/ 2022).

Supardi said he did not rule out the possibility of a new suspect in this case. His party is still conducting an investigation to determine who are the parties involved in this cooking oil case.

“We’ll see tomorrow, we’ll see, tomorrow there will still be progress again, who knows tomorrow or tomorrow there will be more suspects, we don’t know,” said Supardi.

“We will see the development later, right during the investigation process, it will continue to develop because this oil is related to various parties, who has the most potential to fulfill Article 2, Article 3 (Corruption Law),” he added.

Attorney General ST Burhanuddin previously said that his party was also investigating allegations of gratification in the alleged corruption case in granting cooking oil export facilities. He said the investigation was still ongoing.

“Then if there is a gratuity, we will certainly investigate it,” said Burhanuddin during a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Tuesday (19/4).
