“Only work pays,” says the adage. And this is what the young students of Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis understood. Senegal has just won the first prize in the UNESCO international competition on Artificial Intelligence in Africa. It is a team of 4 students from Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis who represented the land of teranga in this challenge organized by the UNESCO Chair of the University of Bordeaux (France). The Senegal team therefore came in first place ahead of 9 other teams from the African continent. Saloum Sané, Amina Awa Niang, Fatima Sané and Alassane Koringho Sagna bravely defended the colors of Senegal. These UGB students were supervised by Adama Sambou.
This UNESCO international challenge aims to promote artificial intelligence in Africa through audiovisual productions (web-documentaries or reports). The Senegal team produced a web-documentary entitled: “Senegal at the rendezvous of artificial intelligence”.
