Used car buyers will usually avoid ‘tired cars’, the term for used cars with high kilometers. At least these four reasons are the reasons why tired cars will be difficult to sell again.
According to Benny Fajarai, Co-Founder of Lifepal.co.id (insurance marketplace), there are four impacts that are of concern to used cars with high kilometers. This makes used car consumers think twice about buying a high kilometer car. What are the four things?
1. Can Dismount Machine
One of the risks of a used car with high kilometers is damage to the engine or overhaul. This car repair is highly avoided by car owners. Usually engine down failure can occur at intervals of 150,000 kilometers.
Please note that the repair will cost a lot of money. The budget range that must be prepared if the vehicle is down engine is between Rp. 3 million – Rp. 5 million, or even more.
2. Interior Fading
In cars with high kilometers are usually used everyday. As a result, interior conditions such as the steering wheel, dashboard and seats will fade. If the conditions are not favorable, buyers of used cars with high kilometers must pay for detailing at the car interior salon.
3. Component Replacement
When buying a used car with high kilometers, the risk is that you will need to replace or repair some of the car’s components. This is because the car often travels long distances or regularly, so that over time erodes the age of use.
4. Body Is Not Good
Cars with high kilometers are synonymous with daily vehicles. Not infrequently the exterior appearance has decreased in quality due to exposure to sunlight and rain.
