4 Good Habits to Maintain Heart Health, Sleeping 8 Hours a Day Must Do

There are many ways to maintain a healthy heart. One of them is maintaining good habits consistently. Anything? Here are four good habits that can maintain heart health, as summarized from the Cleveland Clinic, Sunday (3/10/2021).

1. Reduce consumption of trans fats

Eating healthy foods can certainly maintain the health of your body as a whole, including the heart. Especially for the heart, avoid consuming trans fats which are known to increase the risk of heart disease or stroke. This is because trans fats can clog your arteries by increasing levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and lowering levels of good cholesterol (HDL).

2. Maintain dental and oral hygiene

Dental health is a good indication of overall health, including the heart. Because, if you have periodontal disease (gums) often have risk factors for heart disease as well. Studies have linked the correlation between the two. Some suggest that bacteria in the mouth involved in the development of gum disease can move into the bloodstream and cause an increase in C-reactive protein, which triggers inflammation in blood vessels. This in turn can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
