3rd Edition of Francophone Authors Festival in America: A Unique Literary Event in New York

This year, Rencontre des Auteurs Francophones is increasing the number of meetings around the Festival so that the celebration of literature is more beautiful and brings together more readers and enthusiasts of the French language. This year, the Festival also goes beyond the borders of Manhattan to Westchester, where there is a large and vibrant French-speaking community.

A unique Festival in New York

Founded in New York by Sandrine Kukurudz and Francis Dubois, the Festival of Francophone Authors in America crossed borders in 2023. Leading events, they create friendly encounters between authors, readers and cultural personalities.

They also open up to other cultural activities thanks to the bridges between a book and cinema, theater, music and the visual arts.

The book inspires all the arts and it is this magic which is the very DNA of the Festival des Auteurs Francophones.

These events benefit from the 30 years of expertise in communication and events of its producers.

A 3rd edition at the National Arts Club

Founded in 1898 by the author Charles de Kay, this legendary place, which faces Grammercy Park, was created to welcome artists and bring together lovers of the arts keen to support diverse talents.

Three presidents have been members of this prestigious club: Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Dwight Eisenhower. Today it still welcomes many American personalities and artists in residence.

The mission of New York’s oldest dedicated arts club is to stimulate, encourage and promote public interest in the arts.

A special edition “Tribute to Romain Gary”

​This year, we will celebrate the centenary of the birth of Romain Gary with special guests. Romain Gary, who was also the French consul in Los Angeles, remains an undeniable bridge between the two continents.

A special program reserved for authors

​Meeting of French-speaking Authorsit is a network of authors from 50 countries and territories around the world.

The events are a fabulous excuse to get together during but also before and after the Festival.

This new Festival will be no exception to the rule. On the program (and with participation in the card without obligation):

– Breakfast, aperitifs and dinner (with our featured guests)

– Activities and cultural meetings with New York personalities.

– Presentation of the Romain Gary collective book to each author, by a VIP guest.

– Private New York tour with NEW YORK OFF ROAD – For over 10 years, the team of French guides from New York Off Road has welcomed passing French speakers during guided tours and unusual experiences in New York. Next May, it will be your turn, dear authors of the Meeting of Francophone Authors. We will have the pleasure of taking you to discover the city with a program specially designed for you, promising an exclusive experience.

– And the surprises that will be added throughout the work of preparing the program.

What will visitors discover?

●Meetings with the authors, who will dedicate their works, but will also invite debate and discussion

●A bookstore space which will offer books by Romain Gary, our godparents and a selection of works by authors who are members of the network and are not present.

●Music readings by the authors

French-speaking actors who will read Laurent Seksik based on his book “Romain Gary goes to war

●A sublime and historic private venue, laden with sumptuous artwork and ornaments, usually open to club members only.
