3D artist simulates races> teslamag.de

A simulation on Instagram by a specialist in 3D effects shows what a race between the Tesla Cybertruck and the new edition of the Tesla Roadster could look like. Teslarati first drew attention to the video.

In the 3D video, the new Tesla pickup truck, the Cybertruck, and the new version of the Tesla Roadster set off in an acceleration race against a green landscape. A few puddles shine on the road in the morning or evening sun. After the start, the roadster quickly takes off, a look out of its side window shows the cyber truck as it falls behind the sports car.

The creator of the video is the independent specialist for VFX (visual effects) Slav Popovski from Sydney in Australia. The (according to self-description) former engineer for aviation instruments regularly uploads 3D videos and images of vehicles, spaceships and scenes to Instagram that do not or do not yet exist.

The new roadster presented in November 2017 should make it from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.1 seconds and reach over 400 km / h. In April 2019, Tesla showed what the acceleration of the roadster actually looks like in its own, real Instagram video of the prototype – much faster than in the virtual drag race with the cyber truck.

But the Tesla Cybertruck should also be anything but slow. In the fastest version with three-engine all-wheel drive (Tri Motor AWD), the steel colossus should take less than 2.9 seconds from 0 to 60 miles. Not quite as fast as the Roadster, but with a pulling force of around 6 tons.

A real race between a roadster and a cyber truck would certainly end up as in the animation by Slav Popovski. With the real accelerations, it would look much more spectacular than in the animation, which seems almost reserved (but more dramatic) than the real roadster video. Such a racing situation will not come about too soon. Customers have been able to pre-order the Cybertruck, a pickup with a stainless steel exoskeleton, since November 2019. Apparently, around 500,000 have already done so, as we recently reported. It should come from the end of 2021. But the roadster is still a long time coming: First of all, the super sports car should come onto the market this year. In the meantime, Tesla has given up on the goal and has not yet given a new date.
