38 percent of the Dutch want to get gas from Groningen in the event of a shortage

There is more enthusiasm to stimulate the generation of alternative energy (54 percent) or to purchase gas from other suppliers (45 percent), even if that is more expensive.

Minister Rob Jetten (Climate and Energy) said earlier today that there is no need to open the gas tap in Groningen any further. “That is the very, very last resort in the event of a very large conflict that lasts longer,” said Jetten.

Three quarters of those surveyed expect energy bills to rise further in the near future. Just over half of the participants to the survey plans to turn the thermostat down a few degrees to cut costs.
