31-year-old doesn’t make any money on YouTube despite 7 million views a day because she broke an unwritten rule

With 34 million subscribers, SSSniperWolf is the largest YouTuber in the world, but she has stopped making money from the platform for about a month: after a scandal that made waves around the world, YouTube banned her from advertising. Despite receiving 7 million calls a day, the 31-year-old no longer earns any money from the platform.

Who is this and why is she so big?

  • The YouTuber “SSSniperWolf” was originally known for Call of Duty videos, back then she was still called “sexysexysniper”.
  • However, she really got big by uploading and reacting to other people’s TikTok videos on her channel. She reached 34 million subscribers. According to various lists, she is the woman with the most subscribers on YouTube.
  • She has now published 3,455 videos on YouTube and achieved over 24 billion views. There are around 7 million views every day, and on particularly good days there are sometimes 14 million. SSSniperwolf is currently in a weak phase; a year ago it reached around 20 million views per day (via socialblade).

YouTuber showed up at the house after an argument with colleagues

Why doesn’t she make any money? SSSniperWolf was involved in a dispute with another YouTuber in October 2023. He criticized her for stealing other creators’ content with her TikTok reaction videos and uploading them to her channel. Their reactions are “not transformative” and do not contribute enough to the original video to be considered their own content.

SSSniperWolf found this YouTuber’s constant criticism of herself unfair and said she felt like he was just trying to make money by attacking her, the bigger YouTuber. Finally, SSSniperWolf showed up at the YouTuber’s house and reported live on Instagram that he should come out and clarify the matter with her.

The YouTuber found this behavior scandalous, saying SSSniperWolf had crossed boundaries by invading his private life and showing his house.

At first, YouTube did nothing, but the case made waves on the Internet and some popular influencers took up the case and pressured YouTube to take action against SSSniperWolf.

Because their behavior is a violation of the unwritten rule not to transfer conflicts from the Internet into the real world.

The lockdown lasts much longer than even experts expected

This is the status: In fact, on October 20, YouTube de-monetized all of SSSniperWolf’s channels, depriving her of the ability to advertise and make money through YouTube.

The streamer then announced a break to recover, but that has now apparently expired again:

On November 25th SSSniperwolf uploaded a video to YouTube again despite the ban, but there are still no ads there.

YouTuber penguniz0 explained (via youtube), the YouTuber tried to upload her videos to a second channel “SSSniper Top Videos” and monetize them there, but YouTube put a stop to this and also de-monetized the channel. Since then she has stopped uploading videos there.

However, the YouTuber is surprised: He thought the ban would only last a few weeks, but apparently YouTube is serious about this.

After YouTube needed a lot of public pressure to do something about SSSniperWolf, they now seem to be keeping the ban going for longer than everyone expected.
