PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk has again closed its two outlets starting December 31, 2021. This is because the rental period at these locations has ended.

1. Outlets in Blok M and Surabaya
The two Ace Hardware outlets that are closed this time are located in Pasaraya Blok M, South Jakarta and Marvel City Mall, Surabaya, East Java. The issuer with the stock code ACES announced it through information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
“We hereby inform you that on December 31, 2021, Ace Hardware outlets located at Pasaraya Blok M and Marvel City Mall have been closed because the rental period has ended,” said Corporate Secretary & Head of Investor Relations of PT Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk, Helen Tanzil. , Thursday (30/12/2021).
2. It’s been 25 years of existence
The Ace Hardware outlet at Pasaraya Blok M occupies an area of 4,396 square meters. The outlet opened on September 28, 1996, which means that it has been around for 25 years.
Meanwhile, the Ace Hardware outlet at Marvel City Mall, opened on May 26, 2017, with an area of about 2,563 square meters.
3. No layoffs
Helen said there were no layoffs due to the closure of two Ace Hardware outlets in Blok M and Marvel City Mall. All employees are said to be transferred to other outlets.
“The closing of two Ace Hardware outlets in Blok M and Surabaya does not mean that there will be layoffs for employees, but employees will be transferred to other Ace Hardware outlets,” said Helen, contacted separately.
Although several outlets were decided to close, Ace Hardware is said to continue to expand in opening new outlets that require workers. Previously, the outlets at Emporium Pluit, North Jakarta had already closed on December 8, 2021 also due to the expiration of the rental period.
“Because until now ACE is still continuing to expand in opening new outlets which of course also requires workers,” he said.
