Hong Qu or red yeast rice is believed to be a popular supplement that helps lower cholesterol. Hong Qu contains lovastatin which has the same effect as statin drugs prescribed by doctors to lower cholesterol.
Red yeast rice is in charge of inhibiting the synthesis of cholesterol in the body which lowers total cholesterol, bad cholesterol, and triglycerides.
