250 Cases of Singapore Flu Reported in Central Kalimantan: Health Official

Palangka Raya, kaltengonline.com – Up to 250 cases of Singapore flu have occurred in Central Kalimantan. The 250 cases include those who have had or are currently suffering from Singapore flu or hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD). This data was provided by the Head of Central Kalimantan Health Service, Suyuti Syamsul, on Friday (14/4).

According to him, this data is based on reports from all health facilities in Central Kalimantan from January 1, 2024. He said that Singapore flu or HFMD is a disease that heals on its own within seven days. Therefore, this disease is not included as a disease that needs to be worried.

“It’s nothing to worry about, this disease only needs supportive treatment, like if you have a fever, you get fever medicine,” he said. In fact, he continued, health facilities don’t provide special treatment rooms .“This is because all your patients in Singapore are only receiving outpatient treatment,” he explained.

Suyuti explained that in this case the spread of the Singapore flu could be contained and contained by diligent hand washing and using a mask for someone who was already suffering from a cough and cold “People don’t need to worry about this disease. “Just implement a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS),” he concluded.
