23 people arrested after housing protest in Leiden | Inland

The protest against the current state of the housing market went smoothly, according to the police, but then “a large group” stopped in Van der Werfstraat. “We designated this action as a new demonstration and then disbanded.” Subsequently, “a grim atmosphere was created on the Hooigracht, stones were thrown and damage was caused”, according to the spokesperson.

The group then stayed in a supermarket on Stationsplein. There, 23 people were arrested on suspicion of public violence and failure to show identification.
