“22-Year-Old Woman Survives Shark Attack While Snorkeling on Holiday in Turks and Caicos Islands”

A 22-year-old woman from Connecticut in the USA survived the attack.

The woman was on holiday with a friend in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

According to local police, the woman and her friend were snorkeling when a shark attacked them. An employee at a hotel in the area called an ambulance and the police.

The police later said that the woman lost one of her legs in the attack.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where her condition is said to be serious.

No shark sees humans as food. According to the University of Florida, shark attacks are extremely rare.

In 2022, the number of shark attacks decreased compared to the previous year. It is the lowest number in ten years, equal to 2020.

The University of Florida reports that snorkelers and divers accounted for nine percent of shark attack incidents.

Just last week, two men in Florida were bitten by sharks while fishing. It must have gone well with both of them.
