2024 Copa do Brasil: Final Matches of Second Stage Determine Last Six Teams for Third Phase

The last six classified for the third stage of the Copa do Brasil will be known this Thursday, with the final matches of the second stage taking place.

In the event of a tie, the decision for the place will be decided on penalties. The field commands were defined in a previous draw carried out by the CBF.

Owner of three Copa do Brasil titles (1995, 2002 and 2009), Corinthians takes the field at 8pm in a domestic duel against São Bernardo, at the Primeiro de Maio stadium, in ABC São Paulo.

In the first phase, Timão had no difficulty defeating Cianorte, with a 3-0 victory, in the interior of Paraná (see video below). São Bernardo passed through Olaria.

In the match valid for the Campeonato Paulista, São Bernardo, also playing at home, won 1-0 (see video below). Corinthians, however, was still led by coach Mano Menezes, fired at the beginning of February.

Two other Serie A clubs taking action this Thursday are Criciúma and Fortaleza. Tigre from Santa Catarina, which eliminated Operário de Várzea Grande in the first phase, will face Brasiliense at Boca do Jacaré at 7pm.

Leão do Pici will host Retrô-PE at 9:30 pm, at Arena Castelão. In the first phase, the Ceará club beat Fluminense-PI, in a match that took two days to complete, as it was interrupted at half-time due to heavy rain that flooded Lindolfo Monteiro’s pitch. (see video below).

After qualifying for the third phase, all teams will receive the same prize pool, regardless of national division. In this case, R$2.205 million.
