2023 Open de France Bodysurfing Circuit: Jonathan Despergers and Uhaina-Kailani Hegoas Claim Victory at Chambre d’amour Spot

The first stage of the 2023 Open de France bodysurfing circuit took place on Sunday at the Chambre d’amour spot in Anglet. Congratulations to Jonathan Despergers and Uhaina-Kailani Hegoas who won the Open men and women. And congratulations to the Ligue de Surf Nouvelle-Aquitaine in charge of the organization, in collaboration with the bodysurf commission, the Anglet Surf Club and the French Surfing Federation.

Scheduled for Sunday, the competition was held on a very nice day, with good waves throughout the competition. the organization had to play with the weather and the tide in order to be able to pass all the categories in the best possible conditions.
The best French bodysurfers had responded to the call of the first competition of the season and were able to put on a great show for the judges and all the spectators curious about the discipline while strolling on the Chambre d’amour. The French level has excelled for several years and the younger generations have been able to take over, especially among women where, accustomed to the first steps of the podium, we find Uhaina-Kailani Hegoas (winner in Open) and Clémence Schorsch (winner in hopes) in constant progress.
Jonathan Despergers wins the Open and Masters Plus categories hands down, showing an excellent level and sequence of manoeuvres. Note that the best wave of the competition is attributed to Nathan Lehoux with a 9.1 pts in the final.
The organization thanks all the competitors, judges, volunteers and partners for the smooth running of the day. The second stage will take place on September 23 and 24 in Moliets.
