A Florida grandfather was arrested after police said he left his 1-year-old granddaughter in the back seat of a rental car returned to the airport.

“The little girl was scared and hot but luckily in good health when the paramedics examined her,” said Andrew Grant, a spokesman for the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, in a expression.

Towner was filled with remorse and cooperated with deputies and was charged with child neglect, police said.

The 1-year-old has finally reunited with the mother and a citizenship award will be given to the Hertz employee who found the baby.
