An overpowered Snapdragon 875
Qualcomm’s future processor, the Snapdragon 875, which is expected to be announced in late 2020, would cost smartphone manufacturers $ 250. This is more than the 150-160 dollars of the current Snapdragon 865, which suggests a price increase of one hundred euros next year. It is indeed unlikely that a manufacturer will absorb such a difference on its margin. Xiaomi has not yet made a decision on its pricing strategy.
According to some rumors, the Snapdragon 875 is a good development for our high-end smartphones. The X60 modem would replace the X55 modem and deliver much better performance in 5G while a Super Cortex-X1 would be associated with three Cortex-A78s and four low-power cores.
