Lewis Hamilton look amazing in F1 Brazilian Grand Prix 2021 and managed to win it. racer Mercedes GP it cuts the distance with Max Verstappen in the standings.
In the race which was held at the Interlagos circuit, Sao Paulo, Monday (15/11/2021) early in the morning, Hamilton actually won fifth position at the start. But, due to a five grid penalty, he had to start from 10th position.
His team mate, Valtteri Bottas, took pole position followed by Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. Verstappen actually had a good start when he overtook Bottas and then beat Perez up front.
Meanwhile, Hamilton easily went up four positions to sixth after the start. It only took six laps for Hamilton to be in third position, trailing Perez and Verstappen.
The safety car appeared on lap 12 after Mick Schumacher’s car suffered wing damage. This benefits Hamilton who can keep his distance from the top two positions.
In the end Hamilton was able to overtake Perez to climb to second place on lap 19. Hamilton then got the momentum ahead of Verstappen in the 30th minute and that’s when the virtual safety car appeared.
Verstappen continued to follow Hamilton to find a way to overtake him and it was done on lap 43. Hamilton then overtook Verstappen at corner four on lap 59 to regain his lead at the front.
Verstappen who tried to get close failed and Hamilton continued to drift away before finally crossing the finish line first, followed by Verstappen and Perez. The fourth position belongs to Perez, followed by Charles Leclerc, Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Sebastian Ocon, Fernando Alonso, and Lando Norris in the points zone.
With this victory, Lewis Hamilton maintain the chances of world champion this season. Hamilton with 318.5 points is in second place F1 standings, a difference of 14 points from Max Verstappen at the top (332.5 points).
There are three races remaining this season, with the next one in Qatar next week.
