A UFC fighter suffered such a terrible cut that one commenter said he could smell the blood from his seat while sitting during a featherweight game at a UFC Fight Night event in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Damon Jackson, a 33-year-old American, defeated Charles Rosa during the preliminary map of the UFC nine-fight event, which aired on ESPN + from the Apex studio in Enterprise, Nevada.
But it’s overwhelming what Jackson had to endure on the final lap to take that victory when Rosa slit his head open with a nasty elbow blow.
So much blood flowed from the open wound that a slippery canvas formed, and UFC analyst Paul Felder said he could smell it from the comment booth on the cage.
Another UFC commentator, Jon Anik, blurted out, “I love it.”
The stroke was thrown during the early phase of the third round. Jackson walked forward with his hands up, lowering his body slightly, and throwing an overhand to the right.
Rosa rolled the shot, and when he turned his head away, it twisted his body to ram an elbow into Jackson’s skull.
As the event took place without many fans – only VIP tickets were sold and attendance was not confirmed by the UFC – the blow the shot caused shocked those in attendance.
A voice could be heard from the stands: “He’s bleeding a lot! He bleeds a lot! “
It was a hell of a blow that did considerable damage, but it wasn’t enough to get Rosa the victory as he lost a decision.

“It’s always kind of weird when you’ve got your own blood in it,” Jackson told reporters at the post-event press conference. after MMA fighting. “It’s like you smell it,” he said.
Jackson later added, “I see my blood spurt out five or three inches. It hit an artery. Something good happened. It splashed really well. It came out all along. It was a steady stream of blood and I could only smell it.
“It’s always kind of strange. It doesn’t drive me crazy anymore. It is strange. It is not normal to be slapped in the face and give someone your own blood. It’s crazy.”
Despite the cut, Jackson had done enough to secure the win, improving his pro-MMA record to 19 wins (three knockouts, 14 submissions and two decisions) against four losses.
