$ 2,000 million donated to Hospital Serena del Mar to provide equipment | THE UNIVERSAL

The Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, operator of the Serena del Mar Hospital Center, received a donation of 2,000 million pesos from the Santo Domingo Foundation for the acquisition of biomedical equipment, among which the following stand out: the acquisition of 5 ventilators, 7 beds for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 5 hospital beds, monitors, columns for ICU units and sky lamps.

“We make this donation as a commitment to the country, the region and the health of all Colombians, to ensure that every day more people affected by the virus can access high quality medical care and successfully overcome this disease. In this way, we continue to work in solidarity and together to overcome this difficult time that we are living, ”said José Francisco Aguirre, executive director of the Santo Domingo Foundation.

With these resources, the start of operation of the Hospital Center is being promoted, whose entry into operation is expected in the coming months and which will strengthen the hospital network of Cartagena and the region, which will allow to provide care to both citizens affected by COVID -19, as well as patients with other pathologies.

“This contribution from the Santo Domingo Foundation is essential for the Hospital Center and joins several philanthropic efforts of allied companies and foundations, which in recent weeks have supported us to accelerate the opening of the Serena del Mar Hospital Center, which will begin to operate in Cartagena ”, stated Andrea Echavarría, Director of the Carlos y Sonia Haime Foundation, managing entity of the Hospital Center.

For his part, Henry Gallardo, Director of the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, the operating institution of the Hospital Center, assured that the foundation has the privilege of being the operator of the CHSM and ensuring the best quality standards in the provision of health services for Cartagena and the region.

“This donation brings the Hospital Center closer to fulfilling its fundamental purpose and facilitates the firm intention of delivering the best clinical outcomes, a superior service and experience for patients and families, all within a framework of efficiency”

In turn, Olga Lucía Méndez, Director of the Serena del Mar Hospital Center, highlights the importance of this contribution: “With this donation we are approaching the opening of the CHSM, in order to bring a service with high quality standards to Cartagena and the region. We will provide first class medical assistance with a human service centered on the person, to guarantee the best experience for our patients ”.
