The accident happened on Øverbygdsvegen near 00.34 on Saturday night, near Lillehammer.
– It is a lone car that has driven off the road and then ended up on the roof in the roadway. The driver was declared dead on the spot, says operations manager Kjartan Waage in the Innlandet police district, to NTB.
The accident happened on a relatively straight stretch of county road. The police currently know little about the cause.
It was random passers-by who reported the accident.
The Norwegian Public Roads Administration and the police will now investigate the accident site.
The road is closed, and there is a detour via Follebu.
