SC Paderborn 07 won 2-0 (1-0) at FC St. Pauli in the Monday game of the 25th matchday of the 2nd Bundesliga. Chris Führich took the lead early on (7th), Sebastian Schonlau increased (69th).

Paderborn started bravely away from home – and Führich rewarded the offensive efforts of coach Steffen Baumgart’s team early on. After a strong through pass from Julian Justvan from midfield, he shot past goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic, who was coming out of his goal, flat into the net. It was already his tenth league goal this season, with only goalscorer Dennis Srbeny marking more at the SCP.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei tried to raise with a long-range shot in the opening quarter of an hour, but pushed the ball a little off the post (15th). After a fine dribble, Srbeny just missed the goal with a low shot (21st). A little later, referee Robert Schröder pointed to the penalty spot for SCP after Tore Reginiussen fouled Sven Michel, but after reviewing video assistant Thorben Siewer, he reversed his decision due to Michel’s offside position (30th). On the other hand, Guido Burgstaller had the only significant opportunity for St. Pauli in the first round (42nd).

In the second half, Omar Marmoush had the opportunity to equalize, but with a shot from a distance he failed to goalkeeper Leopold Zingerle (48th). Once again, however, the guests took over. Schonlau headed a cross from substitute Maximilian Thalhammer to make it 2-0, Stojanovic didn’t look good.

In the closing stages Paderborn didn’t let anything go wrong, the home side, on the other hand, tried to do more at the front – but didn’t really find their way into the game. Joker Prince Osei Owusu even left the preliminary decision because he did not fit in front of Stojanovic on the run Michel.
The SCP climbed to ninth place due to the success, St. Pauli fell back to eleventh place.
