183 people have died in the past 24 hours and 1,384 new cases have been detected

Like every day since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, the COVID-19 crisis center, makes its daily press briefing to announce the results of the epidemic on Belgian territory this Thursday. You can follow it live.

Summary of the day

  • 584 people hospitalized in the last 24 hours. 363 people left the hospital. A total of 4,995 people are hospitalized. In total, 5,376 people are hospitalized, including 1,114 in intensive care, or 56 more in the last 24 hours.
  • 52% of intensive care beds are used; 1145 beds are available.
  • 183 new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours, which brings the total of deaths to 1011 people. Among them 40% were over 80 years old and 93% of them were over 65 years old. Among these deaths: 73 took place in Flanders, 35 in Brussels and 75 in Wallonia.

In addition, there are a total of 15,348 confirmed cases including 1,384 in the past 24 hours. Among them, there are 912 in Flanders, 137 in Brussels and 317 in Wallonia.

In total, 60,462 tests were carried out.
