Joventut made concessions to Istanbul’s Bahcesehir College team at home. The Spanish club recognized the superiority of the opponents with a score of 77:87 (25:25, 16:23, 12:20, 24:19).
Artūrs Žagars was not in the team’s application, but Krišs Helmanis made his ULEB Eurocup debut with 40 seconds of play, during which he was unable to mark in other statistical columns.
The Badalona team scored 17 points by Conor Morgan and Ferrand Bass, who also had six rebounds, seven assists and five errors.
The Badalona team has suffered only one loss in six games in the Eurocup this season and is in the first place among the six teams in Group A.
Krišs Helmanis joined the Spanish club system in the summer of 2018. For the second season, the long-term player represents “Joventut” farm club “Prat”, which is fighting in the third highest league in Spain. Helmanis has averaged 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds in five games this season. The father of the basketball player is a Latvian national team legend Uvis Helmanis.
In the ULEB Eurocup 24 teams will be divided into four subgroups, but the second stage will be reached by the four best teams in each group, while the two best teams in each subgroup of the “Top16” round will advance to the quarterfinals. In the elimination tournament, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will take place in a series of up to two wins.
Last season, the tournament was stopped before the quarter-finals and the champions were not determined.
