But Andreas Nordebäck’s strong effort during Friday’s short program (83.82 points) was enough to beat Nikolaj Majorov (who scored 69.79 in the short).
Despite Majorov’s victory in the free skate, it was Andreas Nordebäck who achieved the best total score (228.19 to Majorov’s 216.43) and won the SM gold.
Sweden have only one place for the European Championship, which will be held in Finland in January. The Swedish Figure Skating Association has not yet announced which gentleman will get the job.
Sunday will decide the women’s SM where Josefin Taljegård is in the lead after today’s short program.
