17 Countries Supply Weapons to Ukraine to Fight Russia

Dozens of countries in the world began to supply reinforcements in the form of the main tool of the defense system (defense equipment) to humanitarian assistance for Ukraine in the middle of the invasion Russia which has been increasingly widespread since February 24 last.

Arms supplies began to arrive after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for assistance to the point of offending the commitments of Western countries such as the United States and NATO defend his country.

In a video speech a few days ago, Zelensky felt it was as if Ukraine had been left to fight Russia alone.

We are left alone to defend our country,” Zelensky said in a speech recorded on video AFPFriday (25/2).

The following is a list of countries that supply weapons to Ukraine:

United States of America

President Joe Biden announced the United States was sending additional US$350 million worth of military aid in the form of weapons to Ukraine. Over the past year, the US itself has poured more than US $ 1 billion in security assistance (Rp 14.3 trillion) for the former Soviet Union.

The US Department of Defense announced the weapons include armored vehicles, small arms, personal armor, various other ammunition, to anti-aircraft systems.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has requested supplies of weapons such as the Javelin anti-tank system and Stinger missiles to shoot down the plane.

European Union

For the first time in history, the European Union is funding the purchase and delivery of weapons for Ukraine after member states agreed to send 450 million euros worth of arms to Kiev.

Foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said several countries were also sending fighter jets to Ukraine.

Canada

Canada will supply Ukraine with anti-tank weapons and other ammunition as additional security assistance to support Kiev’s fight against the Russian invasion, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said.

“Canada will continue to provide support for Ukraine’s heroic defense against the Russian military,” Trudeau told reporters in Ottawa.

Trudeau also said he would ban imports of Russian crude.

“We announced our intention to ban all imports of crude oil from Russia, an industry that greatly benefits President Putin and his oligarchs,” he said.

Trudeau said Canada would deliver 100 Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapons systems and 2,000 rockets.

German

Berlin has violated the long-held taboo of not exporting weapons to conflict zones.

Recently, Germany pledged to send 1,000 anti-tank guns to Ukraine, 500 “Stinger” surface-to-air missiles and nine howitzers.

Quoted AFPGermany also donated 14 armored vehicles and 10,000 tons of fuel.

Sweden, Norway and Denmark

Stockholm also violated its neutral stance by planning to send 5,000 anti-tank guns to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Denmark also plans to donate 2,700 anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, as well as Norway which will send helmets, body armor, up to 2,000 M72 anti-tank guns.

Finland

Finland, which has often remained silent in inter-state conflicts, has made a “historic” decision to supply weapons to Ukraine.

Finland will send 1,500 rocket launchers, 2,500 assault rifles, 150,000 rounds of ammunition and 70,000 portions of field rations.

French

France has delivered anti-aircraft and digital weapons, as well as fuel to Ukraine.

English

London said it would “provide further security support to Ukraine”, without elaborating on what might happen.

Belgium

Belgium said it would supply Ukraine with more than 2,000 automatic rifles and 200 anti-tank guns, as well as 3,800 tonnes of fuel.

Dutch

The Dutch defense ministry said it would send “200 Stinger missiles as soon as possible” as well as sniper rifles and protective helmets for Ukraine.

Czech Republic

Prague sent 4,000 mortars and an arsenal of weapons, 30,000 pistols, 7,000 assault rifles, 3,000 machine guns up to one million rounds to Ukraine.

Croatia

Zagreb will deliver light weapons and body armor worth 16 million euros (Rp 258 billion) for Ukraine.

Portugal

Portugal will provide Ukraine with night vision goggles, bullet-proof vests, helmets, grenades, ammunition and G3 automatic rifles

Greece

Athens sent “defense equipment” to Ukraine. The Greek community is one of the largest in Ukraine. Greeks have also been victims of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Romania

Romania, which borders Ukraine, offered to treat the wounded at its 11 military hospitals. Bucharest has also shipped fuel, bulletproof vests, helmets and other “military materials” worth three million euros.

Spanish

Madrid has pledged to send 20 tonnes of aid to Ukraine, mostly medical and defense equipment such as bulletproof vests.
