The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) has granted new land to the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Yasmin regarding the 15-year polemic. The Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, expressed his gratitude for the completion of the problem GKI Yasmi which has been going on for years.
“Alhamdulillah, this afternoon at 14.00 WIB, the Bogor City Government together with the GKI Court announced an agreement to resolve the GKI Yasmin issue which has been going on for 15 years,” Bima Arya said in his statement, Sunday (11/13/2021).
The PAN politician asserted that there was no coercion in resolving the GKI Yasmin dispute. He stressed that the settlement of GKI Yasmin’s dispute was done by looking at all parties on an equal footing, as well as mutual understanding to find a solution.
“This is not just a matter of permits for houses of worship. This is a message from the city of Bogor to the world,” he said.
The Bogor City Government previously issued a policy in the 15-year polemic of GKI Yasmin. The Bogor City Government has donated new land for the construction of a GKI house of worship in West Cilendek.
“This result is also the result of cooperation from all parties, both supportive and unsupportive, since 15 years ago, the grant process which was carried out in a ceremonial manner today is also impossible without the support of residents from the West Cilendek Village, without the hard work of support from all Forkopimda DPRD, city government officials, MUI, FKUB and of course team 7,” said Bima Arya during a press conference at GKI, Court Street, Pabaton, Bogor City.
