14 Cianjur Residents Infected with DHF in Early 2022, One Dies

Cianjur

The Cianjur District Health Office noted that during the period 1-14 January 2022, 14 residents of Cianjur were infected with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF). One of them even died.

Head of the Cianjur District Health Office, Irvan Nur Fauzy, said that reports were received regarding residents suspected of being infected with DHF until mid-January, reaching dozens of people, but only 14 confirmed DHF.

“The rest are only suspect DHF, which of course after undergoing a medical examination only 14 people who contracted DHF,” said Irvan, Friday (1/14/2022).

Irvan said that of the 14 people who were infected with dengue fever, one of them died. The patient who died was a resident of Mayak Village, Cibeber District.

“Yes, one person died. This is the first case of death in 2022 for DHF. His death is thought to be due to Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS) or bleeding,” he said.

He added that dengue cases in Cianjur Regency are indeed high every year. Even the Cianjur District Health Office noted that in 2021 as many as 250 people were infected with dengue and three of them died. Meanwhile, in 2020, a total of 800 people infected with seven people died.

“Cases per year are high. And there are deaths from dengue fever every year. Several sub-districts are also included in the dengue endemic category,” he said.

Irvan revealed that the sub-districts that were included in the endemic dengue fever were Cianjur, Cilaku, Cibeber, and Karangtengah sub-districts. “The four sub-districts are densely populated areas,” he said.

Irvan said the Cianjur Regency Government had not implemented the status of extraordinary events and dengue emergency alert. Because the findings of cases are still sporadic.

“Our status is still on alert. But a circular letter has been issued from the regent so that every sub-district takes anticipatory steps. Starting from 3M plus and others. We will also carry out fogging in several areas where dengue cases have been found,” he said.

“People are asked to be vigilant, because in this rainy season there are many puddles of water that have the potential to become mosquito nests. If you experience symptoms of DHF, seek treatment immediately,” he concluded.
