On Saturday 12 March, 15, 9 plus degrees were measured in Molde, but also 12 other weather stations set March records the second weekend in the spring month.
The records were seen along the coast from Kråkenes in western Norway to Tromsø in the north.
In Tromsø, it was measured 9.7 degrees on Saturday.
So many marching records early in the month are not common, says on-duty meteorologist Magnus Ovhed.
– It is quite unusual in that the temperature generally rises during the month of March throughout the country.

Warmest in Ålesund
An unusually warm air mass over Norway, high pressure and good sunshine led to the many heat records.
The highest temperature on Saturday was measured in Ålesund, although 16.6 degrees is not a record for the city.
The temperatures are expected to drop somewhat, but it will still be mild in the weather.
– This very hot air mass has disappeared, but it is still quite mild in Norway and will be for the next few days.
Forest fire danger in Western Norway
A lot of sun and wind in the last couple of weeks has also led to the Meteorological Institute having issued a warning for forest fire danger.
In western Norway south of Stad, there is a yellow warning of forest fires.
In recent days, fire crews in Western Norway have rumored at least nine fires that have been out of control.
Last Monday, a grass fire got out of control between Tråvika and Austevollshellevegen in Austevollbut the fire brigade closed with extinguishing the fire.
– It’s way dry. There may be a few drops of rain at night in Agder and south of Western Norway, but the amounts are so small that there is quite little to say about the risk of forest fires, says Ovhed.
Only on Wednesday-Thursday will there be enough precipitation that it will be able to reduce the risk of forest fires, add a meteorologist.
Encourages caution with fire
Acting fire chief in Kinn municipality, Robert Endestad, urges people to be careful with the use of open fire in the future.
Especially those who are going to burn fires should be careful, but the fire chief says those who light smaller fires should also think about.
– There is no general fire ban right now, but I ask people to be extra careful now too, says Endestad to NRK.
Endestad says Kinn municipality is considering whether to introduce a general fire ban.
